Leadership Development Coaching Program

Overview

The Masterpiece Leadership Development Coaching program is designed for managers or for individual contributors who wish to build and strengthen their influence skills.  The program consists of three phases.  During the first phase, Assessment and Planning, the coaching goals and agreement are established and documented.  The second phase, Execution, consists of coaching and ongoing feedback. The final phase, Results Evaluation, includes post-coaching assessments and ROI evaluation.

Assessment and Planning

The Winslow Dynamics Profile assessment is completed during the Assessment and Planning phase.  This Class B assessment measures 24 personality characteristics related to career success and personal contentment and provides valuable insight into areas of coaching focus.  Your Masterpiece coach is fully certified in the administration and interpretation of this assessment.  The Center for Creative Leadership Benchmark 360 assessment is also optionally available at an additional cost.  As part of the planning and assessment process, the Masterpiece coach will meet with the client’s direct manager for feedback, agreements and commitments.

Based on the assessments and feedback, Masterpiece will work with the client and sponsor to establish coaching goals. Typically, two to three goals are chosen, with specific and measurable outcomes defined. Confidentiality agreements are an essential element of the coaching engagement and will be clearly detailed and agreed upon as part of the overall coaching agreement. The initial coaching agreement duration included with the Leadership Development Coaching Program is six-months.

Execution

The execution phase includes two one-on-one coaching sessions per month.  Sessions are 90 minutes in duration and may be conducted in person, by telephone or via video conference.  Coaching is performed using a Solutions-Focused Coaching approach as taught by the University of Texas at Dallas Professional and Executive Coaching program. During the program, based on identified needs, outside training may be recommended to build needed skills and competencies.

While areas of focus are fully customizable, topics often include:

  • Thinking Strategically
  • Communicating Effectively
  • Developing the Art of Influence
  • Understanding Organizational Dynamics
  • Enhancing Personal Productivity

Additional topics for clients with management responsibility often include:

  • Building a Strengths-based team
  • Honing your delegation skills
  • Delivering a Valuable Performance Assessment

Periodic calibrations will be performed during the execution phase to ensure that desired progress is being achieved. At a minimum, progress will be assessed mid-way through the coaching engagement and a review with the client and his/her direct manager will be offered.  If desired, the duration of the execution phase may be extended via an addendum to the initial contract.

Results Evaluation

The results evaluation phase provides the opportunity to observe and celebrate the dramatic changes achieved through your coaching engagement. A final debrief is performed with the client and his/her manager and a written report is provided upon request.
